DJ served in the US Navy for 8 years before being medically retired in 2017.

He was introduced to wheelchair basketball while still on active duty as part of his rehabilitation through the San Diego VA Spinal Cord Injury Unit.

DJ likes to stay active, keep an open mind, and try different adaptive sports.

He loves grilling, working out, traveling and spending time with his family.
